Pediatric CPR & First Aid
Family Child Care/Family, Friends & Neighbors (FCC/FFN):
On-Site CPR/First Aid Training Schedule at Atlantic, Cumberland and Gloucester Agency Sites; visit NJCCIS to review available dates/locations.
The Rutgers Southern Regional CCR&R Agency provides in-person training for our five counties' FCC/FFN. Enrollment is based on a 'first come, first served' basis. Per new guidelines established by the NJ Department of Human Services/Division of Family Development (DHS/DFD), FCCs and their substitutes/alternates of record and FFNs must take the trainings offered by their CCR&R.
**There is no charge for FFN and FCC in-home providers and their substitute/alternate if they are currently caring for children receiving subsidy.
Each class session is held from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM (CPR in the AM; lunch; First Aid in the PM)
Classes must meet a 2-person minimum attendance to be held in each county. Atlantic and Gloucester cap at 7 people per session; Cumberland caps at 9 people per session.
HOW TO REGISTER:
New FCC/FFNs:
Contact your county's FCC Program Specialist (FPS) to schedule a training to compete your registration requirements to become an approved FCC or FFN.
Current FCC/FFNs:
Your FPS will contact you to schedule a pediatric CPR/First Aid class before your current certificate expires.
Classes must meet a 2-person minimum attendance to be held in each county. Atlantic and Gloucester cap at 7 people per session; Cumberland caps at 9 people per session.

Non-FCC/FFN and designees: Payment of $60.00 due no later than the date of the Friday prior to training. Payment by credit card: Links will be sent upon registration.

Professional Development requirements as outlined in Chapter 54: Manual of Requirements for FCC Registration, 3A:54-5.7 Renewal of a Certificate of Registration:
(e) Prior to the renewal of a Certificate of Registration, the provider and alternate provider shall provide documentation of attendance at 20-hours of in-service training, other than first aid and CPR training, provided or approved by the sponsoring organization (Rutgers CCR&R Agency), during the last three-year registration period.
1. Distance learning training will be allowed up to a maximum of 10 hours of in-service training if the following criteria are met:
i. the training addresses a required topic and is accomplished through instruction and interaction between an instructor or the ability to contact the instructor by phone or e-mail to discuss training materials; and
ii. the provider maintains a record of the course curriculum and all documentation validating completion of the course (all trainers report registrant participation to the Workforce Registry at NJCCIS).
2. Credit-bearing courses offered by an accredited college or university that address required topics will be accepted, as long as the provider documents that credit was earned and can provide accreditation of the college program (in other words, enrolling in your community college or an accredited on-line college/university can count toward your hours, as long as you complete the course before your application deadline and you have proof of a passing grade of C or better. Acceptable courses can include: Child Psychology; Sociology of the Family; any Exceptional Learner/Population course; Infant/Toddler coursework)
